Level 3 Emergency First Aid At Work (1 Day)

This course is regulated by Ofqual and meets the requirements of the HSE. 

If you have identified the need for trained First Aid practitioners, this national award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies all of the requirements of the regulatory body of first aid.

This course designed to train participants to a basic level of First Aid. It is ideal for providing First Aiders for low risk or small organisations. Alternatively, it is the perfect introductory course for anyone looking to learn some basic First Aid Skills.  

Upon completion of this course participants will have the key First Aid skills required to provide assistance to casualties in a quick and effective manner.

09:00: Welcome & Introduction

09:15-09:20: What is First Aid?

09:20-09:50: Legislation, First Aid Kits & accident reporting

09:50-10:20: Responsibilities of a First Aider & Action in an emergency

10:20:11:00 Primary Survey, Secondary assessment and recovery position

11:00:11:15: Coffee Break

11:15:11:30: Primary Survey, Secondary assessment and recovery position mock scenario

11:30-11:50: Anaphylaxis and Autoinjector Training 

11:50-12:00: The respiratory system

12:00-13:00: CPR & Defibrillator Training

13:00 - 13:30: Lunch

13:30 - 13:50: Disorders of respiration - Choking

14:50 - 14:20: Circulatory System, Shock and Fainting

14:20-15:10: Wounds and bleeding

15:10-15:30: Coffee Break

15:30-16:20: Epilepsy, Burns and Foreign objects

16:20-17:00: Other areas of discussions, Q&A's & Final Assesment

Duration

This course has a minimum of six contact hours in the classroom, consisting of both practical and theoretical exercises. It usually takes place over one day, but can be spread over a longer period if required.

Certification

Completion of the course is dependent on ongoing assessment during the course alongside a multiple choice question paper at the end. The qualification is valid for 3 years. To renew your qualification, the full 6 hour course must be repeated.

Requirements

You must be at least 16 years of age to attend this course. You must also have a reasonable level of fitness and be able to get on the floor and demonstrate CPR to pass the course.
